Albatross

by Robert Westerlund

Let us go 4o years back in time. The instrumental "Albatross" was released in January 1969 by Fleetwood Mac. An other kind of bird, The Eagle (Apollo 11), landed on the moon half a year later and "a small step for (a) man ..." became winged words.

Now it is 2009 and new bird stories. We now know that birds evolved from dinosaurs. Fascinating! We are also aware of the feather/down business and how birds are treated there. A big surprise? Well, not really, anything can happen. Yes, even strange things are likely to happen whether we want to or not. Will it for example ever be possible to see an albatross at Ladtjojaure? I doubt it can happen this year, but I am not so sure that it will be impossible in the future.

Picture link: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/5/5a/Laddjujavvri_Kebnekaise.jpg

Video link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZBlFBQ7SN20 (Albatross played by The Shadows.)
